Aerobics or aerobic exercise refers to exercise that lasts long enough to require oxygen. It is longer in duration yet low in intensity. Aerobic just means in the presence of oxygen and they help in physical conditioning of the body.

Over the past 20 years the term “cardio” has gradually replaced the term “aerobic,” but we're going to use them interchangeably.In addition to eating a balanced, healthy diet, you also need to exercise to stay healthy. Your heart is a muscle and like other muscle of the body you need to exercise it to keep it strong. Here does Aerobic Exercises come in picture because, cardiovascular system is the area where they show there most effect. heart muscles are made more stronger and this helps in pumping more blood to the body with less stress on the heart muscles. This cause increased oxygen and nutrient supply to the body. These increased nutrients will help you in counteracting stress and fatigue for a longer time. This explains why people who do Aerobics exercise have more stamina.

Difference between Aerobic and anaerobic
The term aerobic itself means "with oxygen", which means aerobic exercises burn or utilize the stored energy in your body with oxygen. Aerobic exercises are less stressful and help in increasing your stamina by making your heart stronger. These include activities such as brisk walk, jogging, swimming, etc.

Anaerobic exercise are intense in nature and include activities such as weight lifting, running, soccer, basketball etc. there is very quick onset of fatigue and formation of lactic acid in the muscles. These exercises can not be done for a longer time without a danger of injury.

Research consistently shows that cardio/aerobic exercise, combined with healthy eating habits, is the most efficient and healthful way to control your weight. Weight loss, which is only one benefit of cardio has many other benefits too, which are in following ways:
